A few things from our favourite DJ

Big Dish Go welcome back our favourite son and also our international resident DJ, Ivan Smagghe for his latest instalment of the “A Few Things From Ivan Smagghe” series. This time round he has invited DJ/producer Roman Flugel to play alongside himfor what promises to be a very special night indeed. Both DJ’s will be playing back to back from 10-3 giving you a 5 houropportunity to totally immerse yourself in the unique sounds that they are sowell known for. With Roman’s new album just out we will be expecting a few sneak peeks ofhis new material, which we are very excited about.

Ivan Smagghe
Kill The DJ, Paris

Ivan Smagghe is a native Parisian who gained notoriety as a radio DJ andco-founder of the electro duo Black Strobe. He has played residencies in clubssuch as Fabric and Bugged Out as well as the legendary, now defunct, Parisianclub Pulp. Running the label Kill The DJ for over a decade, Smagghe has morerecently completed remixes for the likes of The xx as one half of productionduo It’s A Fine Line. was recently compiled into apublication for influential fashion boutique and music connoisseurs Colette,which sold out in weeks. Now living in London, Ivan keeps pushing theboundaries of electronic music.

Roman Flugel
Alter Ego, Ongaku, Germany

Roman Flugel has been one of the key players of German electronic music foryears, building a discography that would make a mighty fine record collectionall by itself. He has recorded numerous records under the following names: AcidJesus, Alter Ego, Sensorama (together with his studio partner Joern EllingWuttke), Eight Miles High, Soylent Green, Tracks On Delivery, Roman IV, Ro 70(solo projects). He is also co-producer of the Sven Vaeth albums 'Contact' and'Fire', released two 12"s in collaboration with David Holmes, another twomaxi singles with David Moufang (founder of well known Electronica Label SourceRecords) and recorded a song with Robert Forster from the Australian Band TheGo-Betweens for a Sensorama album. Roman has released records on Ladomat,Source, Cocoon, Harthouse, R&S Records and is part of the Klang Elektronik-Playhouse-Ongakulabel. He did remixes for Blaze, Carsten Jost and Steve O'Sullivan and withJoern Wuttke as well as for Primal Scream, The Human League, Chicks On Speed,Baby Ford, David Holmes to name but a few. Fluegel is also a DJ to boot andplays the best of the best - no matter if you call it house, techno or discomusic.
